While browsing the website of her community’s animal shelter, Francisca Franken stumbled upon an extraordinary cat one night. The cat’s square face, resilient demeanor, and sorrowful eyes caught her attention, causing her to pause scrolling. Franken shared that she was immediately smitten with the feline upon seeing its photo, despite initially laughing at its amusing pictures and unprecedented appearance.
Franken couldn’t help but be drawn to the kitty’s big, melancholic eyes. She immediately felt a desire to meet the cat in person. Without any delay, Franken reached out to the animal shelter to inquire about Bean’s availability for adoption. She eagerly awaited a response, feeling anxious and excited at the same time. Finally, after a sleepless night of anticipation, the shelter got back to her the next day, surprised that she wanted to adopt Bean.
A kind lady from the rescue organization phoned me to confirm if Bean was the cat I intended to adopt. Surprisingly, nobody had shown interest in her before. The lady seemed worried that I might have made an error while selecting the cat. Prior to arriving at the shelter, sweet Bean had been wandering as a stray in a trailer park. She was unwell, had eye infections, and had never experienced the comforts of a loving home. Nevertheless, I was committed to transforming her life for the better.
Franken expressed how amazed she was when she visited the room where a woman led her to see a beautiful creature named Bean. She was taken aback by Bean’s small size, stubby legs, short tail, and the flatness of her face. Overwhelmed by emotions, Franken couldn’t help but cry tears of joy at the sight of Bean, who was nothing like she had previously imagined. After spending some time with Bean, Franken felt an instant bond between them. She was convinced that she had made the right decision in meeting the shy cat and subsequently decided to take her home.
At first, my furry companion was quite affectionate and would stick to me no matter where I went,” Franken shared. “But eventually, she realized that she didn’t have to put up a front with me and that I’d always be by her side, regardless of how cuddly or adorable she was. This led her to unveil her bold side, which I found endearing as it allowed her authentic self to shine.”
It’s a heart-breaking truth that there are countless stray animals wandering the streets alone. Although some are fortunate enough to find their way into shelters, many struggle to find loving homes.
