A feline mother relocated her little ones to take shelter in the foliage and approached a nearby person while seeking a new beginning.
In a local community, a curious sight was spotted – a stray cat with opposable thumbs on both of her front paws. As luck would have it, she approached a resident seeking assistance. It was discovered that the tuxedo feline had given birth to six adorable kittens and was in need of a secure location to raise them. She had made an impromptu nest from twigs and leaves hidden away in the undergrowth of a yard, where her litter was safely tucked away. The kittens were getting more curious by the day, as evidenced by their waddling and attempts to explore their surroundings with eyes wide open.
After no one came forward to claim the cat and her adorable kittens, the kind-hearted finder decided to seek help from their local animal rescue organization, namely Puppy Kitty NY City. The primary aim was to ensure the safety and well-being of the feline family by finding them a loving and secure home. Responding promptly to the plea, a compassionate volunteer from the rescue team went to collect the mother cat and her young ones. The kittens were carefully retrieved from the yard and placed in a carrier, all set for a happier and safer future.
With a determined spirit, the mother cat stepped into the crate to care for her kittens, indicating her readiness to leave the harsh realities of street life behind. Wendy and AJ, who were volunteer foster parents for the rescue center, didn’t hesitate to extend their helping hand upon learning that the family of seven was in need of a home. They lovingly welcomed the feline family to their care, creating a cozy and peaceful environment for the mother cat to nurture her little ones.
According to Wendy and AJ who spoke to Love Meow, Mama was initially anxious when she came to them. However, since being with them, she has become a lot more sociable and affectionate. They named her Thumbs, and she now enjoys spending time with humans. Being well-fed and having a secure home has made her feel comfortable and content.
The cat has impressively ensured the safety and nourishment of her kittens despite the harsh outdoor conditions. Fortunately, she no longer needs to fret about finding food for her family. “She has a lovely personality and takes great care of her kittens. They have been well-fed and clean since we first adopted her.”
Thumbs, despite having access to numerous blankets and towels, has opted for a peculiar location to breastfeed her six offspring. She has positioned herself under the TV stand so that she can remain in proximity to her human caretakers. Whenever she requires aid or support, Thumbs doesn’t hesitate to request it.
The six adorable kittens, namely Rye, Baguette, Pumpernickel, Brioche, Ciabatta and Bun, are flourishing with their insatiable hunger. They have now reached the lively stage of kittenhood where they frolic around, bouncing off one another with uncontrollable energy while honing their natural feline abilities.
With a total of six adorable kittens, they never get bored as they enjoy playing together. Whenever they’re not busy playing, you’ll catch them taking their well-deserved naps either on the comfortable couch or on cozy blankets that I have provided for them. The kittens seem to love their new collection of cat toys, and they also have an array of options when it comes to snoozing – from cat beds to warm laps.
Thumbs is feeling extremely content these days, thanks to her reliable foster family who takes good care of her and also looks after her little ones. She finally gets to take a break from all the stress caused by the six and indulge in some much-needed me-time doing what she enjoys the most.
Thumbs and her kittens are enjoying their new life as indoor cats and are flourishing under the care of their foster family. After a short while, they will be available for adoption and will undoubtedly find loving forever homes where they will be cherished endlessly.
